The Emergency Wilderness Response Team  (EWRT)

The Paul Smith’s College Emergency Wilderness Response Team is composed of mainly Paul Smith’s College students with various backgrounds and certifications which can respond to various emergency response situations in Franklin County and potentially Essex County.

The mission of the PSC EWRT organization is to provide campus-based safety training for the campus community, assist the New York State - Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS - DEC) Forest Rangers search for lost persons, assist any who need help where and when necessary in any emergency situation that arises, and to potentially be involved with the Search and Rescue of the Northern Adirondacks (S.A.R.N.A.K.) in Saranac Lake.  http://www.sarnak.org/

The members of the PSC EWRT organization are volunteers, who willingly take time out of their schedules to help others in need, and are potentially on call at various times.  It is understood that missions undertaken by the individuals in EWRT may occur in any weather condition, day or night, and may have to supply their own gear.
