![]() The Outing Club
Beginning in the fall 2005 semester The Paul Smith’s Outing Club will be an umbrella for all out-door oriented clubs and organizations. The Outing Club handles all outdoor recreation pursuits: hiking, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, backpacking, telemark skiing, backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, kayaking, rock and ice climbing, the ropes course, safety certifications, and training. All outdoor clubs are part of this elite group and any student at PSC is welcome to join. Each club strives to improve the opportunities of not only their own club and cause, but all members under the umbrella. The following clubs and organizations are members of the Outing Club: ![]()

Students involved in this organization strive to support their own interests; ie mountain biking, fishing, sporting and rafting. By coming together as part of the Outing Club, students are better able to support each other in their endeavors. As alumni Sam Prestidge said it best “The Outing Club is like a battleship protecting its fleet of smaller ships”. Each club holds its own regular meetings, but more importantly, they come together to share ideas, concerns and questions and they share the experiences together. As the Outing Club grows, the scope of the club will
also improve. The eventual goal could involve rental equipment operation,
retail sales, and clinics and workshops for the campus community. Possible
certification programs include:
PADI Scuba Diving Programs If there are any questions about The Outing Club-or any other club or organization, email Frank Doldo, Director of Campus Life at PSC.
